How to Use Marketplace Edge Quick buyer-first guide for photos, pricing, confidence, and listings

Quick Start

  1. Add photos.
  2. Enter where you are buying it.
  3. Enter the asking price.
  4. Choose Buying for Myself or Buying to Resell.
  5. Tap Worth Buying.

What Marketplace Edge Does

Marketplace Edge helps you decide whether an item is worth buying at this price, right now. Know before you buy. Then profit if you sell.

It can identify an item from photos, compare the asking price with available market information, give a personal-use value rating, support resale decisions, estimate resale potential, recommend a selling platform, suggest listing and sale prices, and generate a listing after the item is purchased.

Live results depend on available sources, photo quality, and identifiable item details. Treat the output as decision support, not a guarantee.

How to Use Worth Buying

  1. Take or upload clear photos.
  2. Choose where you are buying the item.
  3. Enter the seller's current asking price.
  4. Choose Buying for Myself or Buying to Resell.
  5. Select the condition.
  6. Open Known Item Details and add any brand, model, SKU, UPC, manufacturer, item name, or age information you know.
  7. Open Condition Concerns and select any problems.
  8. Add optional notes.
  9. Tap Worth Buying.
  10. Review the recommendation, price guidance, selling platform, and confidence.

Marketplace platform is optional for Worth Buying. If Buying to Resell is selected, the platform can indicate where you plan to sell. Asking price means what the current seller wants. Photos are required; notes are optional.

How to Take Good Photos

Add up to 6 photos. Use clear shots from multiple angles when possible.

  • Full front view, back view, bottom or underside, and useful size reference.
  • Close-ups of labels, stamps, model numbers, UPC or barcode, and manufacturer information.
  • Photos of damage, missing parts, wear, cracks, stains, or other condition issues.

Clear close-up photos of labels, stamps, and model numbers often improve identification and search results.

How to Use Known Item Details

Add only what you know: item name, brand, manufacturer, model, SKU, UPC, or approximate age or era. Do not guess.

If a number is visible on the item, copy it exactly, including letters, punctuation, and leading zeroes.

How to Use Condition Concerns

Condition affects both buying and resale recommendations. Select problems such as visible damage, cracks or chips, missing pieces, incomplete set, stains or wear, not working, untested, authenticity concerns, odor, or smoke.

Photograph condition problems whenever possible.

Understanding Confidence

Item Identification Confidence reflects how sure the app is about what the item is. Live Comp Confidence reflects how useful the comparable results are. Valuation Confidence reflects how reliable the pricing estimate is. Buyer Decision Confidence reflects how strongly the app can support the recommendation.

High confidence does not guarantee a sale. Low confidence means you should collect more information before acting. If no reliable live comps are found, AI-only guidance should be treated cautiously.

What Need More Info Means

Need More Info is not an error. It means the app cannot make a trustworthy decision yet.

  • Photograph the label more closely, including the bottom or back.
  • Provide the asking price, brand, model, UPC, SKU, or measurements.
  • Show damage, retake blurry photos, and confirm whether parts are missing.

How to Use Generate Listing

  1. Select the marketplace platform.
  2. Take or upload clear photos.
  3. Enter item notes and condition details.
  4. Tap Generate Listing.
  5. Review the generated title, description, price guidance, and item details.
  6. Use the copy buttons to copy the listing content.
  7. Verify all facts before posting.

Generate Listing requires a selected platform, item notes, and at least one photo. Marketplace Edge does not directly post the listing for you.

Important Reminders

  • Verify item identity before buying expensive items.
  • Inspect electronics and mechanical items when possible.
  • Watch for counterfeit goods.
  • Include shipping, fees, transport, repair, and time-to-sell when buying for resale.
  • Do not rely on one weak comparable.
  • Never send payment outside a trusted marketplace process without verifying the seller and item.
